I just purchased a Philips DVD player that will play AVI format. Are there any freeware programs out there that will enable me to burn multiple AVI TV episodes to DVD media with a simple menu? If there are no freeware programs what do you recommend?

    Thanks,
    T

    Thanks Limeight.

However, I don't want to convert the AVI to DVD compliant format(vob). I just want to load the AVIs to DVD media with the ability to create simple menus. Nero allows me to burn AVI files only to CD-r with menus but not DVDs.

Is there anyone that has done this successfully?

I realize that you want to do this as easy as possible, but what you want to do i dont think is possible.

Even so, wouldnt you rather have a disc that you could play on any dvd player instead of restricing it to just one?

My advice to you (if you change your mind) is:

--Download VSO Divx to DVD. This will clean up and convert your avi to dvd format.
--Then use TMPEG DVD Author 1.6 to put it all together with menus.
--Then burn your file with DVD Decrypter.

Looking to make a menu for an avi file? Well, there is a way, dead easy and it takes about 15 minutes to make, no programming needed, no technical software needed, and it runs on Nero.

How is this done? Use Google, type in:

How To Make A Swank-Looking DVD Menu

It tells you how to make it, all you need is Nero Vision Express 3, and Nero Burning Rom (Iuse 6009 version).
The hardest part is deciding which picture you want as a background. I usually find a picture related to the movie, once again using Google, i just type in the name of the movie, i.e. Aeon Flux Pics.
Try it, you'll be amazed at how easy it is.
