    Hello,

I went out and brought a dual layer dvd burner today. However I am lost with all the different kinds of software and what not that can be used to burn dvd's. What I mainly want to use it for is to burn backup copies of all the kids dvd's as they usually scratch the originals.
What are some programs that can be suggested that will work to do this. I have clonedvd2 and anydvd and also have Nero 6.
But I have heard about using software to get around encryption and copyright protection. Is that what anydvd is for or does that just allow you to play Bali copies.

    Thanks for the help.

    Trueman.

I find Nero is good for burning dual layer DVDs I've never had a problem when using it, it's simple and easy to use.

If you have problems doing s straight copy of any DVD use DVD Decrypter to get the files on your hdd then just open Nero and burn.

    Thanks p4_tt,

One other question though. When I open Nero and choose dvd then dvd copy, instead of a copy button on the right hand side I just get an "Info" button instead. If I click it I get an error message as follows. "Sorry the following recorder supports only the follwoing dics types CD-R\RW, fixed packet writing, but the compilation can only be written on a dvd. Please select a different recorder."

The burner is an LG, its a latest model dual layer burner.
Do you know what could be happening here?

    Thanks.

Not too sure what could be causing that, try reinstalling it if that still does not work try updating Nero or download a demo version and see if that works, you can use DVD Decrypter to copy & burn your DVDs am also sure it can handle dvd9.
