Bought this little camera for my daughter. Cant remember if it asked for a date when switched on for the first time, but its date stamping everything wrong. (year = 2000). It looks as if it just started the date as Jan 1st 2000 the day I switched the camera on for the first time. I just cant find on the menu options anywhere how to change the date ! And there is nothing in the manual. Cheers for any help.
True, the manual says nothing about setting it, so I would assume that it can only be set after the memory has been reset. Try taking out the batteries for a minute or so, then re-insert. If you're going to get a date/time prompt, it will be there. Otherwise, I'd try the Hitachi website.
Tried taking out the batteries for several mins but didnt work , but thanks anyway. Will try Hitachi.
This is an interesting mystery. Hitach seems to have "disavowed" all existence of this product. I have opened a support inquiry with Hitachi. I am curious to see where it goes. It is possible that this is an OEM product or a product that they sold/bought the technology to/from another company.
Cheers Dailun. I sent them the question via their website as well. Was pleasantly suprised to see a reply next day. However, the answer was a one-line disgrace from somebody from a company called premiercamera.co.uk "Sorry this model does not have date function." That was it. Ive emailed them that that is not good enough and I want a full refund if the date cant be changed. Suprise , suprise , no reply to date. How can they sell a camera with such a fault ?
