I would like to install a new firewall, and would like to know how to change the windows firewall so there is no conflict between the two.
I did go to Control panle and clicked on Firewall Settings, but it says:

"Windows Firewall Settings Cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to starts Windows Firewall/Internet Connections (ICS) service."

    When I Click on "Yes"

it comes up with the following:

"Windows cannot starts the Windows Firewall/Internet Connections (ICS) service"

Please help. Whats up with this?

To switch on/off the windows firewall I usually go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Security Center. I run Zone Alarm with Windows firewall with no problems...

That's a very bad idea. Having two firewall is like not having one. They will cause conflicts between each other, eventually over-ridding one another. You're defeating the purpose of even having a firewall when you use two. I strongly recommend you disable the Windows firewall!

Would this also be true when running a router? Would there be a firewall with the router and if I had Windows firewall on?
