Hi all, Newbie here, so be nice. As the subject says: How to close the "DVD Play" window in ifoEdit? I cannot see a way to do it from ifoEdit main window, neither from the "DVD Play" window itself. If I click on the "X" (close) icon, the whole program closes. :/ I've also tried keyboard keys (in case there's a shortcut I'm not aware of), right clicking inside the "DVD Play" window, but to no avail. Thanks in advance, ddlooping
Well.. I couldn't do it either. If you don't want to see it then I guess drag it far to the bottom of the windows screen. Or you can maximize the "IfoEdit" program via the task bar, then minimize it. The "DVD Play" window will minimize along with the "IfoEdit" program and leave you with the movie screen only. Hope that helps a little sirmugen
ifoEdit has its uses. I hope it isn't considered cross-posting, I just want to take the opportunity of having a Senior Member around. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/35099 Any idea on this one? If it is considered cross-posting please delete this post.
I know that if you use DVD2One instead of DVD Shrink you can select the subtitles you wish & they are turn off and on'able. I've not tried DVD Shrink yet because I had DVD2One before Shrink came out. I've downloaded & had a look of course..it seems that it wants to have a % figure to take compression down to , whereas DVD2One will let you simply choose 4300mb. [subtitles can always be a nightmare though] P.S. What are IFOedit's uses ? (I started to play with IFOedit but in 2 disc back ups , 1 would play only.So I used other software & haven't looked back: )
DVD2One does look more precise in terms of compression, but IMO, DVD Shrink is more flexible on all the other fronts (I do not have DVD2One, so this is based on what I have read only). You can choose exactly what you want to keep in terms of extras/soundtracks/subs. Compress extras to a higher level than the main feature or use still images instead. Do a simple re-author of the DVD, which I find great (cropping the end credits or a roaring lion at the begining so the movie doesn't need compression at all for example). And I like its interface too. I haven't made many backups yet, but so far I find it very hard to tell the difference between an original and its backup. Granted, I have only done movies that would fit on one DVD, with level 1 compression or no compression at all. ifoEdit will enable me to split a DVD9 to two DVDs when I get around to try it, lol.
DVD2One will let you choose all the options you spoke of.. AC3 6CH - English [subs] - Angle 1 , are the options I usually have. Star Wars - Phantom Menace [Movie-Only] was about 5.8Gb before compression but came out great !!(same with Attack of the Clones) I dont do 2 Disc back ups myself ; )- Each to their own though , but unless your using a Plasma screen TV or something I dont see the point in being so specific to get 1:1 (IMHO)
