how to convert avi to MPEG

    I want to know how to convert an avi file to mpeg 1 to copy to a CD.I have tried to make many copies that were already in mpeg format but still didn't work on my DVD player but they work on my computer but lag alot and the audio keeps skipping.

    Click on the one that says, "Guides".

    Remember: you can have/can create MPEGs compliant with your TV system, but to view movies on a DVD player you need to 'author' [MPG --> (S)VCD or DVD] them.
