i have a copy film on a dvd disc.when i play it on my stand alone there is background noise but no talking.when i play on my computer its fine.i have opened dvdshrink and found the audio is mpeg1. what is the difference between mpeg1 and mpeg3?my stand alone plays mp3's so if i can convert the audio i hope to be alright. any help would be grateful people.
Do you mean MP3 sound? Usually a MPEG has MP2 sound, an AVI has MP3 sound. I never heard about MPEG3 audio. I really am afraid you ripped a wrong sound stream from that DVD. Are you sure that stream was the corect one? Sometimes, for example, you have 'English 6ch' audio which is the correct one, and an 'Enghlish 2ch' which is Enterview or Directory comments and so on If you just have an audio codec problem, you might try the (AVI?) with VirtualDubMod, Demux the audio stream, Convert thet stream to what you wand (MP3 CBR is best) with HeadAC3he, and re-insert it to the old AVI movie [VirtualDubMod, Stream___Stream List, Disable the old one, Add the new one, set Video to Direct Stream Copy and File__Save (F7)] Ah, thank to you I also decided to write http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/190445 ; maybe its content can be interesting to you...
