Hello, Ive recently bought myself a DVD Burner (Pioneer 106). Ive got myself various programs Including DVD X Copy Platinum, which includes the Xpress Version and Nero 6. I have a couple of copied DVD Films which i am trying to copy so that i can learn how it works. What do i nedd to do? Do i still need to rip the file?? I just don't know. I have read all of the guides which are on this site but i am still a bit unsure, can someone shed some light on this for me please. Thanks
If the dvd you want to copy is already a copy, there is no encryption on it. NO need to rip or shrink. Just use any software disc copy program. Jerry
Using any burning software, do a on the fly copy (if u have 2 drives), a simple iso disc copy with one drive, drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder onto your HD and burn like u did with the source, or you might be able to do an ISO copy with dvd decrypter. As Jerry mentioned....when the source disc is NOT encrypted, you can treat it like any other cd or dvd data disc. It's just some files.
Are you sure that the protection is not copied across with the DVD?? How can i tell if a DVD will need decrypting or not?? Every copied DVD i get, i can simply pop it onto Nero and Copy-on the fly with no problems?! That sounds too easy!!
NO not all dvd's would be like, Original dvd's would have a lock on them that wont let you copy them. but if you use these two programs called anydvd (wich breaks the lock) along with clonedvd youll be ok.clonedvd reads all the video_ts files from the movie and temporarly stores it in your harddrive, when its done reading the files, insert the blank dvd, and than its starts writing the files, but all along you have to have any dvd running, the icon is a fox, and needs to be by where your time in your computer is at, just let it round it the background. once you have burned a movie(original) you dont need to do this, since the lock is already gone. im just speaking from my experience with these two programs. have burned well over 200 burns and no problem, its very easy.
Thnaks for all you help so far. When i was burning CD's i got quite good at doing them and i used many different programs which would identify the type of protection being used and then i would use the appropriate program to burn it. Is there any kind of program which will detect whether or not a DVD is protected??
If you start to copy a dvd with a regular burning program (example Nero)and the dvd is encrypted, Nero will stop the process and inform you very quickly. If its NOT encrypted (as most already copied dvds will be)the copy process will continue. To my knowledge you can't make an encrypted dvd copy. Jerry
Hi, I am doing good with the same pioneer 106, however using clonedvd and anydvd, the dvd does not play on the LG DRD 8080B on my desktop, although it plays on dvd player, dvd burner itself and toshiba notebook. Anybody can help me?
what type of media are you using. its kind of weird that it wont play on your computer. it might be a media issue, not sure doe
Hotspot47, What software do you use for playing back DVDs with your computer? (Powerdvd-Windvd) One of the settings there might be wrong or disabled. I tried to research your model that you gave, but couldn't come up with anything. Jerry
