i have never heard of any one breaking down a PC DVD based game into cd's, I "think" its not possible.

I know some people have done the opposite of what your trying to do but not the reverse way.

    intersting to know though.

I don't think it would work. the setup would just not be able to find the right files, if you even got enough files on one cd to make the setup run properly.
Abetter idea would be to make an image file of the dvd, then split it into 3 rar files, which can be burnt to 3 cd's. the rars can be unpacked into the image later, and then mounted with deamon tools :) (good idea to burn to that to one of the discs too) then you could give the discs someone, with a small set of instructions.

I was thinking the same thing,

Maybe the files into a folder then burn as many files as you can across (assume) 3 or 4 cd'd then reassemble them.

I might try that just to see if ti works.

I will get back to you with some findings.

i would like to know one thing. what happen when the installer cannot find the next file that will be installed??? is it requesting a location where it could find the file or just halting the installation process??

if it's requesting a location where to find the file, maybe there's a posibility to divide it to cd. but if it will halting the process... well it couldn't be helped though :(
