how to create .img file

    I hope this doesn't sound stupid but i'm trying to make a boot up disk. The code i have is on notepad but it needs to be in .img format. Does anyone know how I can create this type of file? I have searched the net for answers but have come up with nothing.

    Any help is appreciated :)

    If its in notepad just add .img at the end when you save.
