I have had some dvd's burn just to find out that the disk is not readable. I read in a post that someone had suguested to finalise the dvd in another program such as DVD Decryptor. I cant for the life of me figure out how to do that in that program. Can it be done in Nero 6 ? Please help.

At the end of the burning process Nero or whatever burning rom you are using should automatically finalise the disc. Unless of course you are using the Plextor burner with Nero?

what about after the dvd is burnt? What I mean is it was burnt using DVD X Copy express and now the disk is not readable. Can I juat finalise the disk in nero and if so how? When I put the disk in nero I need to select another file to burn It wont let me just finalise the disk without puting something on it .

Put the disk in your burner and start up Nero.

Select DVD and also make sure that you select "Continue Multisession Disk".

It will ask you what session on the disk to use. Select the only one available (should be Session 01) and make sure that you say yes when asked about the different file system.

You should now have a screen with an "AUDIO_TS" folder and a "VIDEO_TS" folder. At this screen you can change the name of the disk any name you wish, or leave it at "NEW".

Then, make sure that the new window showing your disk is highlighted and then go up to the "File" menu and select "Write CD". It will bring up a smaller window. Click "Write"

That will close the disk session and make the unplayable disks playable

    72Morgan,

I tried that method and I got as far as seeing the session on the disk, But it would not let me select the session to continue. Maybee the disk did not write everything that it should have. Any other suguestions? I'm using Nero 6. Thanks for the help

You shouldn't be having this problem with Express - contact 321 studios who should be able to help. Before you do that check that 'multisession' is not checked in nero as the default setting for DVD burning. If it is checked then that's probably the reason it won't play.
