How to fix an xbox dvd drive

I have a problem with my xbox the bios loads but games dont i think its the dvd drive. How can I fix it and where can I get a working one?

 

There is a pot tweak tutorial available on www.xbox-scene.com Besides that if ur xbox is modded u can change ur drive for a more reliable samsung drive. They also have a tutorial there for that.

 

look on ebay,new drives,new laser assblys.i change them all of the time.mostly thompson drives.

 

Are you using the same format media(cd-rw, dvd-r, dvd+r) for your games as your bios disk? Is it just the backups, or do original game disks not work either? Just trying to narrow it down.
