Hello friends...I would like to ask a silly question...
M using XP SP2 as my OS.I've kept certain items which I'm forced to keep in the desktop. For each of the frequently used items M using shorcut keys.Say for internet explorer m using * of NumPad as shorcut key, and similarly for other icons. As I want my desktop to be completely free of icons,I thought of removing those shorcut icons.if I remove those icons from desktoop then I'm no longer able to use my shorcut keys,i.e. M forced to keep those items in my desktop which will make me able to use those keys. Now I want to know ,Is it possible to still use my, aforesaid kind of, shorcut keys, withour keeping any of the icons in my desktop..Thank for reading this much...Plz help me.Thank you.

Right click the desktop > Properties > Desktop tab > Customize desktop. Under desktop icons four are listed: My Documents, My Network Places, My Computer and IE. The ones that are checked should be the only ones that you can't delete.

    Hope that helps.
