Both my media and my drive are rated at 4x but when I burn using Nero 6 it is only writing at 2x even if I select the 'maximum speed' option.
How do I get Nero to burn at 4x speed so I can utilize the full potential of this drive?

    BTW,
    media-Fuji DVD-R
    drive-Emprex DVD Dual 4x
    Comp.-P4,256MB ddr,ect.

    Thanks for the help

Even though you selected the burn speed, Nero looks at the blank media and determines the max speed your drive can burn it. Nero will allow you to only select a slower burn speed than that.
Try a different brand of 4X media and see if that helps, make sure your burner driver is up to date. You may need some additional RAM. Are your drive(s) set to "DMA if able" in your device manager?
Thats about all I can think of.
