how to insert sub titles into .avi format movie

    I have the subtitles file .rar file, and .avi movie.
    So how do i insert subtitles into the movie.

    hi, shame the mod above couldnt say Where Is The Appropriate Forum.
    I've never been to this site before and only found this page due to the above question that was phrased exactly like I typed into google.

    I created an a/c just to say this.

    Hope your site is good might keep looking.

    And to kezzzzzer:


    First you need to unrar that .rar file using WinRAR, WinZip or 7-Zip.
    Then you move that .srt (or .sub) to same folder where the movie is and rename it so they have the same name. [like Movie.avi and Movie.srt]

    Most media players will show the subtitles now.
    - VLC, MPC, BSplayer...
    Or if you have VobSub installed the subtitles can be shown with almost every media player.

    Is it the same way for an AVI or divX movie to add the subtitles in case you want to play it on a dvd player that supports dvX?
