What do you want to make an mp3 from? If you want to rip a audio CD and convert it to mp3s, use this guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm EAC is the best ripper out there, and so far LAME is the best encoder. You can also use EAC to encode WAV files to mp3.
If I am using EAC to rip audio files from an audio-cd so I can create another identical cd(cd-r) from the rip which is best: 1. To create MP3 files and burn them to cd-r. 2. To create .wav files and burn them to cd-r.
wait, you want to create and identical audio CD of an audio CD? just use nero and choose CD Copy, or try Clone CD. Or do you want to create a data CD-R of mp3s?
Well I've heard(read from the link in this thread) that EAC creates the best quality mp3's and wav's. So I was going to use EAC to rip the original CD. So to this end I was wondering what method is best, burn to cd-r with the EAC created MP3's or WAV's.
if you're burning it back to cd-r, then use wav, because it will be uncompressed. use mp3s if you want to store them on your hard drive, because wavs are impractical cause they're pretty large. but you lose some quality when compressing to mp3. but if you are going to rip the cd, then burn it back to audio cd, use wav.
