    Question is, do you want to spend a few hours of your time to learn how to make professional ones? If so "buy" ;) Photoshop or Fireworks, IMHO they are the best, and a great site for photoshop tuorials would be www.good-tutorials.com or www.pixel2life.com :)

    @Jeanc1
    On a scale of 1 to 10 where would you rate Animation Shops usefulness in terms of drawing, e.g Saturation, Color Balance, Fade etc etc?

    Who am I to judge a piece of software -- !! I would not dare !

    You see software is very subjective , it all depends on the needs of the person using it ; spell your needs first then look for software that does meet those needs -- then if it exceds them, think if its worth the extra cash to you.

    Animation 3 is a basic piece of software that does not cost one quarter of the cost of Photoshop -- so one should not compare and consider before investing hard earned money in something that may well be too much to make avatars !

    i have never bought a piece of software (although i have acouple by other means *cough*)

    i like freeware

    i think everything should be free.

    but there again i wish we lived in a perfect world

    anyone know a prog for creating images (for psp really) that look good. i have some artistic flare

    but all the progs i have tried are either complicated or well sh**

    No I wouldnt spend any money for animation software. I would prefer just a trial or freeware. I have never really used a program like corels animation shop but it seems difficult, but its fun to figure it out.

    Thanks.

    i agree with raven,i think everything should be free,and i think that scroungers like the stupid websites that charge you $20 to download somethin and it turns out you could've gone to a different site and got it for free!!!
