I'd like to know how to create my own .vob-files from my own videos (.avi,.m2p etc) so I can burn them (with Nero 6.0) to a DVD so I finally can play them in a regular stand alone DVD-player. Anybody who knows how to do this? I could convert them to Xvid or DivX or something but then I guess it can't be played in every DVD-player. Or can I use any other format instead of .vob to do this?

    Thanks alot!!

    /Stefan

you need a dvd authoring program or an mpeg encoder like tmpgenc to create the dvds.

Well you should first convert your files to a DVD format MPEG2 file. You can do that with TMPEGEnc which is free for 30 days.

Then you need a DVD authoring files to create the IFO, VOB and other files that a DVD needs and then burn it. You can do that with TMPEGEnc DVD Author which is excellent for that job and can also directly write your DVD.

I use TMPGEnc to encode it and I use DVD-Lab as the authoring program to make my VOB, IFO, BUP files ready for burning with Nero.
