I just upgrade to BD. I built a new computer and after all the problem I had getting it to work now I have been told the newer versions of cyberlink powerdvd will disable harddrive play back:(

I was told nothing newer than 7.3319. I managed to get that one and a couple of other ones. Non of them worked. I haven't had the time to rip but a few films. Pirates of the caribbean 1 and 3 and Finding neverland. 3 and neverland have picture but no audio and 1 will play a blank screen during the film and if you skip forward you get the pirate in the menu and there must 20+ different chapters of him but no movie.

I have the version the burner came with, that you have to upgrade to the latest version to work. I tried 7.3.3319f, PowerDVD 7.2 Version Ultra Deluxe,7.3.3516(extended edition) and the 3730 patch. I would buy one that works in a minute.

Do I need to reformat and install the correct version?

Is there a play back program that will play rips that I can buy?

well I don't know if anyone else had problems with PDVD but I can not get it to play rips. The 1st couple had picture and zero audio. The next had a silent black screen during the whole film but you could skip forward and watch the 20 menu chapters. The last 2 had picture and audio but it was all french and no way to change it. This exact same results with all version of PDVD I tried.

On another forum it was sugested try arcsoft total media theater. I did and it all works. Pdvd can play orginals and total meddia theater for rips.

    now I'm a happy camper

Well I've never had any problems with My current powerDVD. But I went through hell trying to find the right version. I went through a lot just like you did and finally got version 7.3 ULTRA, and now it works fine. I am pretty sure that the deluxe editions wont play Blu-Rays from your harddrive properly for some stupid reason. Go search on T.P.B. for 7.3 ultra and not deluxe and uninstall your current version and see what happens.

You need PowerDVD 7.3.3319a or earlier (not 3319b or 3319f, neither will work).

I figured out what I was doing wrong. With my first version I could get in through the back door by opening media files. Thats why it seemed to work on some. With 3319a it works perfect. When I tested this version at first I was still going to open media files. So it still didn't work
