how to play .sub file

    I have all these movies and they come with .sub files and i don't know how to use them. i play the movies on toshiba divx player and i wanna to watch them. So can anyone help me out here?

    Well a .sub file can either be a text based sub format or half a VOBSub. Most players can handle text based subs (usually srt, but microdvd subs should be supported). If your player doesn't supported them, then that is it though.

    Worst case you can convert to xsubs. All DivX certified players are supposed to support divx files with embedded xsubs.

    Open it with Media Player Classic, but first be sure that the names of movie and the subtitle is the same, for example

    Mymovie.avi
    Mymovie.sub
