I have 3 parts to a film which are 700-800mb each I joined them with dvtool and it made a mpg that is 2.4gb. when i play it in powerdvd it only shows the 1st part of the film. When I put it in dvd2avi it shows the whole film! Now when I do everything necessary to make dvd maestro accept the video and sound files it reports the length of the film as 44 minutes which is obviously wrong. So what I need to know is how to burn an mpg over 2gb onto a dvd-r so that it works in a dvd player. When i try to use the 2gb file in nero it says i cannot put it onto an iso file system? I am running windows xp and have an ntfs formatted drive? Please Help Thanks
Gstyle, What you need is an "Authoring" package. This will create a "proper" DVD VOB set. There are lots available on the market. Do a search on Google. Some even burn for you was well, but Nero (ver 5.5.8 +) will then burn as well. HomerJ
elljay55, You asked, "how do you burn the mpeg file to dvd-r with nero" Just the same way as you would normal data, but I suspect you may not have asked the proper question. What type of device are you looking to play the mpeg file on ? Anything other than a PC and you need a lot more. HomerJ
ok in detail. i have alot of svcd files that i now want to put on dvd-r and play on my stand alone dvd player. so how would i be able to put those mpeg files on the dvd-r thanks
elljay55, Argh.... this is where you are starting to get beyond me knowlegde wise (as someone once put it) I believe VCD /SVCD type format usually stick to a single CD (800mb or so) I suppose big files can be split across 2 Cds, but I'm afraid I know nothing of that. Once you tell Nero about DVD it starts thinking about VOBs and the like. Sorry I can't help you. HomerJ
