He probably means the TMPGENC encoder and not the DVD author, yes?

Try CCE. Their basic encoder is rather affordable.

I suspected that, was jsut checking. I think the quality of TMPGEnc Plus is pretty good anyway and rather simple.

Yes. TMPGEnc is nicer to use, and their mpeg1 quality is superb. But their mpeg2 quality isn't so great and the encoding speed is too slow. Y'know, the mpeg2 quality wouldn't bother me so much if is was faster.

I dont like the DVD Author because it makes the video all jumpy. Is there any other programs to use?

Ulead throws my audio off my video track after like 5 minutes.

If your video is jumpy with TMPG DVD Author, then it'll be jumpy with another authorware. Try using a different encoder.

I have a similar question. I have downloaded movies (full movies off of kazaa and such), and have converted them to mpeg-2 using TMPGEnc, but now i can't put them on a dvd.

I have been told to use TMPGEnc Author to conver it to .vob, but for some reason TMPGEnc author won't change it to .vob, plus once i do convert it, it will be to big to put on a dvd.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Rockywood, it is illegal to download movies off the internet and it is also against the rules to talk about it in these forums.

you can use a compressor like dvdshrink or dvd2one after it converts it to make it fit.

you need to give details as why it wont convert before we can help you
