hi echo you now need a 9 pin null modem cable(they have them in places like maplins). the next stage is getting the loader and firmware. the loader is a program that puts the firmware in to your dm500c via the null modem cable,the loader is called dreamup(you can get this by clicking on the link in my signature. you also need the firmware or its also called an image(this is what unlocks the tv channels)there are a few images so you need to get the one that works best for you. again you will get an image or firmware by clicking on the link in my signature.i have used digitalworldz firmware my self in the past to update a friends dreambox and it is very good. how to tell if an image is recent before you download it is to look at the date beside it(the more recent the better). now go and get the loader and firmware and null modem cable before we go any further and get back to me on this thread(it will be in the updated thread section,as you might get in trouble with the mods if you start more than one thread asking the same things)i will get back to you then and help you with the next stage.
