is ts there a way to softmod without purchasing anything except the mechassault game. i have a xbox that is new and i have a computer. what can i do without buying anything or cutting the wire on the controller??
so definately the version ms-023086 mechassault does not work . i havent tried it. but does anyone kno if it works?
Yes it does you have to splice the end of the break away cable and get a female usb port and strip it and match the cables except for yellow just leave it then follow the instructions here
It's just a rumor, but some people say that you can hook the xbox up to your computer via FTP without having a softmodded xbox. All you would need to do is have a crossover cable, then set your network card to have a specific IP and DNS, and you may even need Simple DNS. Then, you go into xbox live and enter in the IP of your computer as your DNS and do some connections and you'll be able to FTP. The DNS has to match that of xbox live. Then, you can either put the gamesave for AR right on the hard-drive or just put the dash straight on the xbox. But once again, I've never tested this, nor do I know that it works. Also, with the information provided above, you still won't know how to do it. I don't feel like testing it or righting a tutorial right now. ====================================================================== In general, there MAY be a way, but it's easier to just get Action Replay with a compatible game. ====================================================================== I was thinking of setting up a free/VERY cheap softmodding service; but there were trust issues. Basically, I was going to set it up where they just ship it to me with the money to ship it back (and I was thinking about an additional $5 for any additional shipping cost) and I could softmod it, and mail it back to them.
