My pc went out. I get power light. My fan comes on but nothing else. Is there a way to test mobo and/or processor to see if 1 or the other or both are fried?

have you tried another psu? have you disconnected all cables to drives? have you checked the silver topped can objects which are capacitors on the motherboard that they are not domed or leaking brown stuff? have you tried clearing the cmos as i have found that to work sometimes to kickstart stubborn systems?

Little background... me and my wife built two identical pc's hers never worked. we assumed we had blown the board or processor or both during install. mines worked for about 2 years. when mines went down i tried her processor and mobo and did all the switching possiblewith the 2 mobo's and proc's and power supplies. hers were all dead. mines would start fans and lights but would not come on we tried different video cards no video card and still no video.I have checked the capacitors and connections on board nothing seems out of place. I have removed the cmos battery and left it out overnight.
