what do you mean by "unlocking" it? remove riplock? or ? ? ? if it's the rip lock you are referring to, most likely you will need to cross-flash a modified firmware to do this...but, you have to be more specific as i do not know exactly what you mean by "unlocking" it
here you go: enjoy~! http://dhc014.rpc1.org/LtnRPC/ your Sony drive is a rebadged OEM Liteon SOHW-1633S (which i have by the way ) it will now be REGION FREE~ docTY~
Thanks but I have tried changing the Region but get the following message..... Type Code : Drive region has been set permanently, but may be reset by the vendor if necessary # of Vendor Resets Available : 4 # of User Controlled Changes Available : 0 Drive DVD region : 2
did you try to ENABLE first, THEN use the "reset user cnt" ??? if you try to use the "reset user cnt" or the "reset vendor cnt" while the drive is REGION FREE already, IT WILL NOT WORK~ just tinker around with it, try different combinations of enable, disable, then enable again BEFORE you try the reset options, it SHOULD work, the reason i say this is i HAVE ALREADY done it on my Liteon SOHW-1633S drive~ it IS region free now and whenever i run out of changes (say after a format of the hd, new motherboard, etc.etc. where i alter or take out the drive) i just run this program again and i'm region free again~ good luck...it SHOULD work and bypass that error screen you mentioned assuming you did each step correctly, in order~
