I'm trying to copy a PC game called Medal of Honor Allied Assault and I don't know how to copy it to another disk by using Alcohol 120%. Its my first time using this program, can someone help me out?
You're welcome? ROFL Hmmm, I bet that you meant to tell him thank you for his help, but you need more help. Am I right? Come on, give me the answer. Give me the answer, and I want it now!
dude, in order to back up that game you must first get a hold of a program which tells you what encryption is on the game disk, one such freeware program is A-RAY SCANNER once you know the encryption then when you go to the came copy wizard down on the left hand side there is a drop down menu which starts out saying customize, in this menu you click on it and it will show you various encryptions, click on the one that aray told you is on your game and then you should be able to back it up.
Also try ClonyXXL, similar to a-ray scanner, and it will give you the encryption type that you need to input in Alcohol! A -ray works just fine, but i had a couple of friends that had some problems (freezes and restarts) and they found that with ClonyXXL they did the same work without incident ! Good Luck P.S. By the way, nice game !! Staifan
OK, I did what you told me and scanned the disc and found out that the protection is "Safe Disc". Now that I found that out how do I copy it to a CD. I custimized the protection but it asks to copy into a folder such as My Documents, Documents and Settings, etc. How do I copy it to a disc? Do I drag the folder or something. Please explain.
you can choose 2 options, 1. you can make the image first then burn later. 2. Select Copy Wizard and off you go.
Alright, But could you tell me step-by-step how to do each. Like I said this is my first time using this program.
Lol I did a search to find out how to use Alchol 120% so I could copy my sims 2 game. I have followed you thread and I am lost to no I am not blonde lol. Hi I am having exactly the same problem with that procedure - did you manage to work it out? Many thanks
Evenin peeps, as above I'm afraid. I too am like a fish out of water here. Downloaded an Alcoholclone game, and was following the instructions to unrar, where I hit my first prob. The downloaded game has 13 rar files. So, off I go, first file....no probs MDF and MDS files. All going well then. Do I need to do all the rar files? Well I tried. WinRAR asks me if I want to replace the existing MDF and MDS files as, I assume the files are the same..??? So, onward. I try burning the cd incase I only need the one file. I managed to get the file into Alcohol and burn to disc. (I guess that wasn't right!) Next installation and I'm stumped. The mount image option is greyed out, and funnily enough, heehaw happens with the CD. please, please help. (oh and now my head hurts!)
I think they are having the same issue's i am having.. I have burned files just fine. Installed everything serial# is fine just having problems mounting image on virtual drive. Even when i do put image on drive shows game I wish to play but still gives me the insert proper disc please according to A-Ray Scanner there was no protection. So I am sooo lost. Any Tips ?
I just figured out how to make a Civilization IV no-cd. All you need are the CivIV disks and Alcohol 120%. I will explain it all here in full detail so that no one struggles as I have. 1) Install Civilization IV. I copied all of the files to a directory on my harddrive before installation, but you don't have to do this. If you do copy everything to your harddrive, just put the data3.cab file (on the 2nd disk) in the same directory as the other cab files. Click on the autorun.exe and select install. 2) Download Alcohol 120%. http://www.alcohol-software.com/ I have the trial version. 3) Place CivIV disk #1 in your drive. Select "Image Making Wizard." Select the drive that contains the CivIV disk #1. On datatype, select "Safedisk 2/3." Write the image file. There will be errors, but don't worry about it. 4) On the main screen in Alcohol 120%, right click and select "Mount on Device." You'll mount on the virtual drive that Alcohol setup when it was installed. 5) Open Windows Explorer and select your virtual drive. Copy a shortcut of autorun.exe to your desktop. 6) You're done! If you want the icon to be the CivIV icon, then right click on the autorun.exe shortcut, select properties, and then select the "Shortcut" menu. Click on "Change Icon..." and select "Browse." Then go to the path C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\res and select the icon. 7) Note that Alcohol 120% will NOT make a copy of the CD for you. For some reason, the CD copy will not work to load up CivIV, but no avail, you have a no-cd version. Hope this helps! J. -x-
