Ok to start off I have had this dvd writer for over a year now, I have been burning movies and games... something went wrong recently i had to redo my computer and I think i clcicked region 1 on my dvd settings and ever since i have done that i put blank media in and it says no media found.. or If i try and play a original store bought movie it doesnt recognize that as well. Does any one have a solution i am going bananas over here. It only reads music cds and so on . But worked fine before i redid my computer. if any one can help me please do ....
where do you live??? that may not be the correct region setting for where you live, but shouldnt be makeing your drive not see media.... you are aware that that drive only does +'r right
Yes i know the drive does only plus yes thats correct. I must have burned over 500 hundred games and movies on it .... I am from Rhode island ... USA.... Just happeend all of a sudden if you can help me out that would be greatful....
The thing with the 300n i removed it and replaced it with a hp dvd420e and a dvd420i and i put the 300n in my other computer and the 300n is still not reading media or for the fact it isnt even playing movies store bought on it... but the other two that are in my computer are working fine .... weird ... probally simple but irratating the heck out of me ....
Do you have any idea what and where i would get this flash and i have tried new drivers nothing is working ....
re jumper the drive... check which ide channel its on, if you just took it out of one computer and put it in another it will still be jumperd as a master and thats fine it should be, but if you have another drive in the other computer you must jumper it as a slave (the other drive not the 300n). Also what os is in the other computer... win xp or 98, if its 98 you may need to reinstall it or if its xp you should be able to just uninstall it and when you reboot the comptuer it should put it in for you.
I installed the dvd burner with its drivers from the box it worked fine until i set the region code to 1 and then ever since then doesnt even read original store bought dvd movies and or the blank media.. doesnt even recognize it .. I dont know what to do anymore about it .
ID suggest removing the drive entirely... uninstall it, remove the ide connection from the back and restart your computer, then shut down the computer and reconnect the ide cable again and this time when it finds the drive let windows xp install the drive itself, it should have the drivers it needs for it... see if that helps
