    Hello,

so I have a HP DVD writer 100j and I'm using Nero burning ROM 6.3.1.17 and when I try to burn data to a DVD+R it says "illegal disc" and the only kind it lists as ok is a DVD+RW! An +RW is a re-writable DVD if I'm not mistaken, correct? I have burned the +R's before and they work fine, why the change of heart? Even the Nero info tool says my drive is only good for the +RW's! Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Looks like a firmware issue resulting from a Microsoft update...

Yeah, I can't get it to go. Just hate to admit defeat! Well, time to start researching my purchase.

Here's 2 to look into - LiteOn or Plextor. A BenQ 1650 would be good too if you can still find one.

Think you'll be much happier with a new burner :)
