HP DVD Writer 300vi

    I just bought a hp dvd writer 300vi and i am having problems with it copying dvd's. i am new to copying dvd's so i really don't know alot. it did come with a dvd decrypter but when i try to copy an extact copy it would not copy. can someone please tell me how to get it to work.

    you need to go to the guides to get the steps down. Backing up a dvd requires essentially 3 steps---ripping, compressing and burning.

    You can rip with decrypter but then you will need to compress and burn with other programs. Most people will then compress with dvd2one.

    You can rip and compress with dvd shrink (which is free)

    Most people will burn with nero or recordnow (although many other programs are capable)

    decrypter is a ripping program. You can rip with decrypter, dvd shrink, or smart ripper. There are others also, but those are the most popular ones.
