ok this is whats up....i just got a new dvd burner with lightscribe the HP dvd740b....everything works fine burning wise but when i try to light scribe using either nero or surething the computer always stops responding i updated to the newest firmware still nothing....another thing when i hooked up the new burner i took out my old cd drive and left my old burner which i love....but now the comp recognizes the original burner as a cd-rom drive and the new burner as a DVD burner i want them both to be dvd burners anybody know how to fix????
Go into device manager/cd-dvd rom drives: Open up the tree/double click the dvd-rw drive that is at issue/click driver tab/ uninstall drivers to that drive/reboot. Not meaning any harm,but did you turn the disc upside down in that hp 740b drive to lightscribe it? I just want to make sure you did, LOL Good Luck!
oh ofcourse i turned the disc upside down lol i have used lightscribe burners...but i fixed the problem i needed to update the lightscribe i had already did it but i had to update it like 3 times lol now it works though thanks for the help....
