So this is my way old comp .Gave it to my budy and he rebooted it got everything running good and used it for bout 6 months. The other day it froze on him he turned it off while he went to work came home tried to start it. But now nothing all you here is the fan start up and a few lights come on for power volume mute n stuff like that. DVD drive door wont open unless i use a paperclip .Even when i turn it off and back on with the boot up disc in it, it does nothing. I'm at a lose for what else to try now.
clear cmos as have found that to work sometimes to kickstart a stubborn system. try another psu. make certain all the silver flat top cans(capacitors) on motherboard are not domed. disconnect all cables to drives. remove all cards & ram except for videocard(if not onboard) & 1 stick of ram.
