Hi all I have an HP 300c DVD /CD writer combo on an HP Pavilion running XP Home (SP1). I am able to read DVDs. I am able to write DVDs (using the supplied Arcsoft Showbiz 2). Now I seem to be unable to read any kind of a CD (ROM or music) apart that is from one CD of image files that I cut on my previous PC (using Nero). I've tried to upgrade the device drivers but it tells me I'm already carrying the latest. Has anyone else seen this problem, and can you suggest a way around it? Thanks in advance Clive
Hi clive i have just the same problem here..but i was able to read and write normal cds until a couple of days ago.. i am still looking for a solution.. hope u find one too
Hi, By "updating drivers" did you mean the firmware? If you haven't updated the firmware it might help to update since firmware typically helps the drive with media compatibility and so forth. I'd recommend trying HP's website for the latest firmware revision for your exact model drive and follow the instructions carefully or you can get the firmware here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=37 If this doesn't help then post back and we'll go from there _X_X_X_X_X_[small] JMLS-166S/Plextor PX-708A/Plextor Premium My Movies! http://www.intervocative.com/dvdcollection.aspx/Rephaim Got Indie? http://cdbaby.com/[/small]
