hi, my uncle gave me a pc but wanted the hard drive out of it. so i took out the hard drive brought a 160gb western digital ide hard drive and a LG 22x dvd burner also ide and i put in a windiws disc and turned on the pc and it didnt seem too boot so i thought "thats strange" so then i thought i should go into the bios settings and change the boot to dvd! so i turned on the pc again and i didnt even have the option to press f2 to go into bios! i didnt have the option to do anything. so i thought maybe it needs the bios driver which i have searched on the internet for and cant find any drivers for this anywhere. so i thought i come to you guys in hope you might be able to help me!!! any help would be most appreciated! many thanks!! wizzkiddo
try del at the post screen. it should tell you what button(s) to press to enter the bios setup. did you get the users manual with it & if so then read it as will tell you how to enter the bios?
what are the numbers on the motherboard? .. lets start from the beginning shall we.. like having a box of bits out of a skip..
were will the numbers be on the motherboard? also ddp i will try del on post when i go home this evening!
the numbers will be between the card expansion slots near the middle. will say something like asus p4v-b1 or something like that but not just asus as can say gigabyte, msi or whatever.
i can see writing on the back of the motherboard near the middle and it says - YANG.AN YA-4 E114139 94V-0 and underneath that its got 0307 in dotted kind of writing
It might be a DFI CB-61 or variant...does this picture look like what you have? http://active-hardware.com/english/reviews/mainboard/cb61-2.htm
