Ok, I have been researching on how to stop DRE for a long time now, and nothing has worked for me. I usually will get a random DRE error within 5 minutes to 2 hours. Here is some details on my setup... Gamecube Drive: 08 Media: Ridata G04 Burnt Speed: 4x PI/PO Tests: Low amount Boot Method: Max Drive Pro with GCOS 1.5 Teaser Release 2 I have tried all the following POT settings... 100, 170, 190, 210, 250, 280, 295, 310, 320, 350, 370, 400 (games wont read at 400) It seems I get the less errors when I set it to 295, but when it hits 284 on its own, i get them... Anyways, all those pot values have given me DRE. Anyways, I have concluded that it is NOT my media, burner, or my pot. Because my friend has a gamecube with max drive pro as well and I let him play my burnt games and he has never gotten 1 DRE error yet on them. And he plays for hours upon hours of each game. He also uses the excact version of GCOS as I do, so it's not the BIOS. So we decided to open up his gamecube and it turns out his POT is set at 530! How in the world is the gamecube reading these discs perfectly at a pot of 530?!?! Anyways, the max my gamecube will go is 400. I already tried 530. He got his gamecube around launch date or a year later of it, I got mine from walmart about 2 weeks ago. His drive version is 6 and mine is 8. I have concluded that my DRE is causes by either my gamecube version or the drive version through the tests. Should I find someone with a gamecube that has a drive 6 and swap my cube for his? Oh and one more note, when I open my gamecube and take out the drive, on the side on the metal, it is written in black marker saying 6 6. I don't know what that means, mabye version 66?
use the qoob pro chip with 1.3c bios. Works perfect for me. I use ritek mini dvd-r g04 media 4x. I burn at 4x using nero. My POT is set to 210. All my copies work perfect. Check out my tutorial in this forum.
Well I would, but I dont got the budget for that, I am actually trying out the ninja shell mod DOL file bios instead of gcos and it seems to have fixed my problem some how!
