    hi all.

used chunks fab tuts to softmod today, 10 minutes to do,
so having initially had problems with the FTP i got the
PC and Xbox talking. ok so far........so my plan is to use
Chimps2.6 App to clone onto a bigger drive. i have the zip
file i unzipped it, i adjusted the file tree as the howto
says, i FTP it to the UDATA folder on the Xbox......i cant
see it on the xbox though when i go to have a look at it.
i can find the files on the xbox file manager but nowhere
to activate it. so thats my specific question, in general
though where do you put the d/l's on the xbox to get at them.
i fancy XBMC next but where does it go???????

    regards

You can get this thing calleed "AID" it is and all in one disk. It comes with 20+ apps, all the dashboards, and you can install them right from the disk. The link is in Chuckheads Software page.

    hi there

cheers, ive just spent hours trawling the web and
come up with nothing specific, obviously im missing
a trick. ive made folders for N64 emulator FTP'd
the files into and out of and nothing shows, same with
XBMC and ive been to their official site and there is
nothing to specifically guide you from FTP-running. ah
    well.

I don't FTP those things, well I do the roms. But use AID, to install the emulator, and then FTP the roms into the ROMS folder. It will save you time, it also comes with XBMC.

EDIT: If you really need to FTP, download XBMC, it should be in a folder named XBMC, FTP to your Xbox, and transfer it into the E drive under "Applications". Then you can FTP the Surreal64xxx emulator under Emulators in the E drive. I think thats how you do it, I only FTP to backup my eeprom, and mod maps.

cheers again, im downloading all 1GB of AID now.
is there a specific place that goes through the
hows whys and where fors of installing your
downloads, it would be useful as a reference just
so i understand whats going on, why things are
put where they are and how it (if you can) be
done manually in the event of tweaking being required.
ive had fun today, chunks tuts are great, 10 mins with
the AR memory and away we go.

AID installs the files to the direct location, so you don't have to navigate. All you do is select the Drive, which is E.

    Yeah, Chuck's tuts are great.

    hi again.

ok i follow that. i tried chimps2.6 and N64 emulator
and XBMC. i tried creating a folder for each in E/UDATA,
dropping them into the E/UDATA folder in their own folders
and also in their own folder just dumped in the E folder.
they can be seen as files in the file manager on the Xbox
but nowhere functional.........other than the AID disk whats
    the secret??????????????

There is no secret, once you have the AID disk, just install the emulators. You don't need to go creating folders. Just follow this:
    1)Burn the AID.iso to disk
    2)Put it in the Xbox
3)Once it boots up, click Applications
    4)Press Install to E
5)Scroll down 'till you find XBMC
    6)Install it
    7)Your done.
Also, were did you get the AID download from?

hi mate ok i'll wait on the AID d/l. i got it through
chunks link> get a torrent from the site and fire my
utorrent up. i presume this is the only way of doing
app installs? i want chimp so i can go from retail to
a brand new 80GB drive i have laying around. ive got
Xboxhdm1.9 to and ive put my MS backup in the C folder
and my backup eeprom in the eeprom folder. so i can burn
the ISO as and when. but i fancy trying chimp first.

yep getting that next week. at the minute im
fine, so long as i can follow the AID instructions.
my only view is that the tuts to get you going on
the softmod are outstanding, also the FTP guides.
but there seems to be a gap with actually installing
of apps........i have found a few but they are very vague
as in 'install as an app on your HD' oooooooook how?
either ive missed it (ive scoured the forums for about a
week) or theres a bit of a knowledge gap between doing the
    softmod and adding apps.

When you get the AID disk, it will say "Install Applications" click it. Then choose the E Drive, and choose which app you would like to install.

good m8. only other thing that needs tweaking
is my FTP and wireless internet, have to be offline
to FTP or not FTPing to go on the net. chunks got
a tut on that.........guess what ill be looking at ;-)
