Hi. I'm using Nero 7 Essentials and Staples brand DVD-Rs. I clicked on 'Make Your Own DVD-Video' and everything worked hassle free. I imported a Windows Media Movie file, customized the Menu, and burned the DVD-R in NTSC format. Is said the DVD burned successfully, and ejected the DVD-R. Then, when I put the DVD-R back into my computer, nothing happened. So then I took it out and put it in two different DVD players (a Sony and Samsung). Both players said the disc was in the wrong format. Am I using the wrong type of DVD? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Could be the discs you using - Staples uses different manufacturers - some not good and/or compatible with all burners. Depends on the firmware of the burner. Was the wmv file in PAL format and you needed to convert it to NTSC? Nero will give a warning if the format of the file doesn't match for the region you are in. Something like 'most files are in a PAL format would you like to keep the format'. If you want it converted to NTSC you would click no. Though if it was an PAL/NTSC issue it would play in the pc at least. You can post the last Nero log and we can get some info from that. You can find it here: program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory. Just be sure to edit out the serial # begins w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.
thanks for the help. I found out that the DVD-Rs that I was using were really old. I used some brand new Office Depot ones and they worked out great.
