Hey guys I'm trying to figure out why my cd burner wont burn slower than 16x. I burn my DivX files on cd's and watch them on my DivX Dvd player and sometimes the audio gets off track from the video. Im pretty sure the speed of the burning process is the problem. I have a LiteOn CD-RW SOHR-5239V cd burner and I used Nero 7 Premium. I'd like to be able to burn at 8x...4x would be GREAT =) someone help me! haha.

Have you tried burning at a lower speed on another program. It may be the fault of Nero 7. I hear it's not as good as Nero 6.

That was a good idea. I just tried it though with Nero 6 and the same burning speeds are listed. None less than 16x. Could it be an issue with the type of cd burner I am using? Maybe it can't burn slower than that or something.

If that didn't fix it, it very well could be the media. Have you tried more than one type to see?

hey i appreciate all the ideas folks. I tried the Dynamic Write Speed thing and it doesn't seem to have helped. Do I have to add or change any values in it? Also...would it have made it so the drop down menu for the burning speeds had the extra speeds in it? Or do I have to change the speed a different way?

I haven't tried to change differnet cd brands but I used these on my old Cd Burner and I was able to burn as low as 2x if i remember correctly. If that tells you anything...i dont know lol thats why im here. Seems to me if it were a media related issue (the cd's) then I wouldn't have been able to burn at those speeds on my old burner. thats just my thought though.

    any more ideas guys?

just like there is a max. burn speed on burners...do you think that there is a Minimum burn speed? Maybe my cd burner cant burn any slower than 16x. Could that be it?

No, a min burn speed isn't the problem. I've never seen a burner with a min burn speed before. Just go buy a 5 of 10 pack of some good, different CD's and see if you can burn slower than 16x. This is a good palce to start ruling out possibilities (and it could save us alot of time).
