I used dvd decrypter for the first time on Boogie Nights,and all my Vob files are in my temp folder and everything seems to be ready to move on to the next step,but I was curious about why my hard drive will not defrag ,it's a Maxtor 80 gig with 8 meg buffer. I was able to defrag before I placed the temp files on my drive, is this normal?or should I not try defragmentation until after I finish compressing and burning? This is my first DVD back-up project so this is all new to me,I haven't used any other programs except the decrypter,my next step was probably DVD shrink (freeware) and I have Nero waiting in the wings as soon as I figure out step two,I just want to know if this is normal , thanks
I think you should finish copying the disc and then delete the files completely (from 'recycle bin' also) then try again. Sometimes when large files are added defragmentation will not work properly.
