    Hi,

I need some serious help from you!!! I backed up my son's graduate school on a RW disk before re-formatting his laptop. The files don't show up in windows explorer in all three computers I have. I opened Nero->More->Disk info, and was able to see those tracks in there. What/How do I access to these files/folders?

Thank you much for your time.

How did you back up ? With Nero (.nrg) ? If yes then try Nero`s restore. You can also try some file recovery software.

Use a program called 'IsoBuster' or 'DVD X Rescue' these tools are good cause they can recognise sessions and sectors, IsoBuster is particularly better so far for me, but try them they should work, if not try a program like BadCopy or somethin otherwise i'm stumped and your f*cked...

    Hello ttran,

Maybe those were written with DirectCD (Roxio) or InCD (Nero) or DLA (Sonic) ?

Those CD-RW in those format cannot be read on a plain CDR unless those apps are reinstalled.

Those Packet Writting or Direct Letter Access format.
CD-RW needs to be formated before they can be written to, like a big floppy.

    Is that the case ?

Thank you to all those responded to my request. I was finally able to "extract" all of my son's important school works. I used the isobuster that one of you suggested. Again, many thanks.
