Okay, I have a modded Xbox, and im runnin the EvoX, my X is connected to my router and so on so on. I have a FTPprogram that looks a litlle like FlasHFXP but w/ the flash you only get to use it for 30 days unless u pay. Everytime I push the quick connect button it shows up as this . When im in my modded Dasboard. and I go to network then settings. it looks like this: Assignment: Automatic(DHCP) Enable Http Proxy: 0 Http proxy host: This is blank Http proxy host: 8080 Enable internet lookups: 0 Enable RSS feeds: 0 Then Im not sure where to go from here or if my IP adress is even correct. I know I know.. im all over the place. But I really wanna mod some games. its so cool, so can some1 help me.
There are free ftp clients like cuteftp ..Flash is pretty sucky really Have a read of some basic networking info.. http://www.geekgirls.com/windowsxp_home_network.htm then read the xbox networking guides that the backup xbox games threads are bursting with.. You are using a router so it's dhcp all the way. Your other client isn't connecting because you are telling it to use a proxy.. there is no need.
K I took a look at it but it still confuses me. I didnt see anything in that website about connecting in a network to another computer using FTP. Though I have one question, Can a Xbox have a different IP adress than the one that it thinks it has. Cause I diabled the proxy and found the IP adress that the Xbox told me it was, and it still didnt work. what should I do.
ok, it would go a little like this. OK they are not showing up right so just do a copy and past from the HTTP part to your bowser window. Just remove the space between http:// and thw www that i put in to make them show up. http:// www.teammodders.com/forum/how-to-ftp-to-your-xbox-t128.html http:// www.teammodders.com/forum/how-to-ftp-made-easy-t403.html http:// www.teammodders.com/forum/how-to-ftp-made-easy-part-2-t487.html and you may possibly need to do this http://www.teammodders.com/forum/internet-connection-sharing-for-the-xbox-or-other-console-t714.html it should be very simple. If the IP address showing on the Xbox dashboard (and it should if you use a good skin) is let say, 192.168.1.102 then the FTP program would be set up like this. description = XBOX hostname = 192.168.1.102 (uncheck use proxy) username and password both = xbox (lowercase) port = 21 I like WS_FTP Pro the best myself but everyone has their personal preference. I started out with FlashFXP, and by the way you can find FTP cliends on torrent sites that will let you use it past the 30 day trial if you look around
