i dleted a file by accident that i needed and emptied my recyling bin, is there a free* way of getting it back?
If it was on C partition you will need to remove the drive from the computer & place it in an external housing or in another comp as a slave & install recuva or pandora recovery (both are free) to that computer so as not to overwrite the deleted file,if it was deleted from a partition other than C (you have more than one partition on that drive & file was deleted from D partition or whatever that partition drive letter is then you can install those programs to C)the only other way if you don't have access to another comp is to use a linux live data recovery cd,the other option is to unhide all files & extensions including protected files & look inside the recycle bin there will be a folder that looks something like this 123457990887 or some other such long name
don't have to remove drive & don't have to have another drive to safe recovered data onto it. i've run data recovery programs a number of times, the 1st time needed for a court case. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?id=38&sort=0 http://www.ontrack.com/freesoftware/ http://www.z-a-recovery.com/download.htm http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.html http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/collection/collid,1295-order,1-c,downloads/files.html http://www.easeus.com/ http://www.ntfs.com/products.htm http://www.pcinspector.de/download.asp?language=1#file_recovery http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec
