With any program i have used either my computer has frozen up or i get a blue screen in windows. I have only one part of a dvd rip that i own, about 2 gigs that im trying to convert. Only file i have tried.

I'm pretty sure my computer is capable to do this.

    I have a amd 3000 xp
    512 mb ram pc3200
    6600gt video card

any ideas or suggestions? i dont know what the code is when it gives me a blue screen. Dumps my memory.

Sometimes this happens because your CPU runs 166MHz (333DDR) FSB and your memory runs 200MHz (400DDR) asynchronously.
It can be a real problem if your memory is 128-bit (dual-channel).
Switch your memory to 1:1 = 333DDR (PC2700 speed) and some AMD PCs will be much more stable and support much tighter memory timings too (even on SPD setting).
If you can get your PC running solid, try GordianKnot

with DVDDecrypter and the XviD codec.
