Isn't there a straight-forward intuitive and powerful video editor out there?

I have been very happy with Studio 8, with the exception of it being buggy, crashing and freezing randomly, and unable to produce more than one copy with each render, and also unable to handle anything beyond a (long or short) simple project.

I like its interface, and I managed to produce large complex project out of it by breaking down the components.

Just got Vegas 4.0+DVD. All the hassle with the authorization code, waiting for a day after paying good money, and it does not seems to have an audio editor. What the hack?

All I want is this. Studio 8, working w/o bug, and able to do simple mixing. Like I will record one audio source on one track, and a 2nd source on the other track. The editor should let me change the setting on whichever segment I choose, to change the volume on each track and pan it left or right. Simple!

we do need a whitebalance correction in Studio 8.

Also, I want at least 4 video sources simultanously, sync with the timecode, so I can easily employ multi cameras.

OK, Studio 8 is a $100, can't expect that much. But hey, I will pay ten times the price right now if they just put those features in, without all the complicated controls in Vegas. Have not play with Premire, but imagine it is similarly complex.

Yes, sorry, meant to say Premier, typed too fast.

Is 95% of the people using Premier?

The question was dumb to start with?

UM..Vegas Video has an awesome Audio editor..I use Vegas a Work sometimes and it has a very big assortment of Audio Filters and DirectX Plugins and Editing Features But if you were looking for a really high end audio editor then you should have also gotten Sound Forge 7 because it has basicly every audio editing feature you can imagine..If I would have known that you were going to pay for Vegas Video 4 I could have hooked you up for free because at My work everytime there is a New Version of a High end Editing Program we get a free copy from the software company ,they give up One free copy hopeing we will buy a copy for every workstsion we have (over 50) but my boss wants us to mostly to use AVID-Express DV 4 for editing so he gives us the freebies to try out and Keep if we wish , I have gotten so much free software this way ...well good Luck

PS: Vegas is one of the easiest Editing Programs to use, Much easier than Premier or Media studio or Avid....
