You'll need a firewire cable, assuming your motherboard has a firewire connection, and software like windows movie maker, or Nero (using NeroVision Express).

You can get a firewire cable at any good computer store. Also, you computer must have a firewire port or you will need a firewire PCI card.
As far as software goes, windows xp had movie maker which isnt too bad to capture DV to AVI.

You can get nero (or some other software) also at a computer store, or download.

If you're running xp, you have movie maker already, you're just missing the cable (and/or the card).

Nope, loosen one screw, remove a cover, slide card in, replace screw and you are done.
