Ok, the description said to go here to blow off steam, so here I am. I bought a *new* 8x laptop CD-RW drive for one of my customers from notebookparts.com. They sent me a used, defective unit. So I returned it and paid more shipping to have them replace it. Then a week later the second drive arrives and it looks new this time. I install it, and it doesn't make a horrible roaring noice like the last one did. Only one problem. It won't burn a CD over 50 MB. So I call them again. They offer to replace it AGAIN. By now my customer has been waiting three weeks to get his laptop back, and he just decided to get a jump drive for backups. I called notebookparts.com again and told them I didn't want another replacement - I wanted to return it for a refund. Then they said all sales are final and that was that. So a word of caution - DO NOT buy ANYTHING from notebookparts.com. If you want the extended version of this story check out the post in my blog at http://www.thorschrock.com. If anyone else had had problems with them please post them here. I would like to know if I am alone on this one.
