is both connectors 15 pin or is the computer 9 pin as all video cards are female which means the male on your computer is not for video but is a serial port for a serial mouse or whatever!!
yes, thank you very much. i feel like an idiot because i had another plug in the video card and i did not notice and therefore i was trying the plug it into the serial port as you said. Thank you for helping me out again.
