I have a R4i SDHC Card and I need help trying to get it to work ***************************** Hey guys A few years ago I bought a R4 Card from a local Mom and Pop Computer Store This is what is on the front of the package it came in front R4i SDHC R4I-SDHC Upgrade Revolution for DS (NDSi/NDSL/NDS) www.r4-v.com ( the website does not work anymore ) back The Box includes : R41, Micro SD card reader ******************************************************* The color of the sensors or whatever you call it on the Card it is Red and its says R41-SDHC I own a Nintendo DSi and its about three years old and I really dont us it that much Currently the R4 Card will just not work Today I upgraded the firmware of the unit via Wifi like the way you would do a firmware update to a Stand Alone Bluray player and then I tried the R4 Card and it still would not work I Googled " R4 Card not working " and someone said " set the date of the unit back to 2011 " and then it should work I did that and it did not work ............ Then I read about "upgrading the Kerrnal " I tried following the instructions on overwriting the contents of the 8 GB Micro SD Card three different times with different Keernal Upgrades and none of them work I keep getting this message on my DSI ************** An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting ****************************** I went to this page www .r4-ds-r4i.com/pages/R4i-SDHC-kernel-download.html and I tried R4i SDHC Kernel V1.67b (English) and I tried this one R4i SDHC Kernel V1.67b (English) and I followed these instructions Installation instructions: Unzip the folder, copy R4iMenu, moonshl2, moonmemo, r4.DAT into the micro sd card.Copy games, music,movies into the micro SD card, insert the SD card into R4i SDHC v1.4.5 flashcard, then insert the flash card into console. Power on the console, press”A” to start choosing.(Take Kernel V1.40b as an example): ********************** and it still did not work .... Oh I have a good idea. I will put the 8 GB Micro SD Cardin the T-FLASH USB Reader and I will tell / paste whats it in ..... ( I was going to print screen but I forgot how to do that ) GAMES moonmemo moonshl2 R4iMenu DEMON0.SYS R4.dat SWRESET.SYS thats whats on / in my 8 GB MicroSD Card and I cant remember if it was included when I bought the R$ Card .... ( don't laugh at me ) I overwrote all the files with the new Kernel Updates and nothing worked I also think I tried one of the updates from this site //r4town.com/pages/R4iSDHC-Kernel.html and that did not work either this next part is the most frustrating part because I found a site that gives me AN EXACT PICTURE of my card here www .r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp The Card I have is the very last one at the bottom just scroll down This is DEFINITELY my card R4i-SDHC kernel download(with mark，withoutor) I downloaded and overwrote using this English V1.12d　2013-06-25 and even though there was a picture of my card so I knew I had the right one that did not work either ..... ************************** If there is anyone who can give me simple point form idiot proof instructions on now to get my card working again that work rock In the meantime I have a copy of Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword That I actually paid for so I will keep playing that and I might buy a few more Games used from some stores near me If I cant get it it working and none of you guys can help me I will probably take it back to where I bou8ght it and ask the dude who sold it to me if he can try and get it working for me .. and if he can;t if he could sell me a new one and make sure it works before I leave the store I will also ask if I can get a discount if i give him back the card that's not working maybe he can use it for parts or something If anyone can help me please just tell me what to do and what to buy or whatever .. i guess it's because your card is too old and also you can not find the correct kernel for this card because the official site is not working. looks like you also have tried all the possible ways to solve it. i can only recommend you buy a r4i gold 3ds card instead, which is new updated version and working great on your dsi console.
Ok I will go to the place that sold me my R4,card and Ask them if they have a r4i gold If I get one of those will it work Automatically or will I need to Update this with that Kernel Thing ? And if so what website should I do that on ?
i haven't heard this card before. maybe it is too old that can't work now. you need to buy a new one.
I seems like none of the computer stores in my city sell the R4i Gold 3DS card . I might have to buy it in Toronto the next time I am there

When they say that when you buy the card it's " pre flashed " they are just talking about The Card itself right ? Because when you Buy it with no SD card you have to Download the latest wood kernel from The links provided and put them on The root of the card right ? When they Say the cards are pre flashed and working Does that mean that they will put the Wood kernel upgrade thing on the Micro SD card if you buy one with the card ? I own a DSI that says Ver 1.4.5U On the System settings page And its the year 2008 on the back Of it if that information matters. My DSI is not to old is it ? Anyways I will buy The R4i Gold 3ds At the end of the month It looks like I can Have a folder for DS games And a folder for SNES games On the same Micro SD card Inserted into the R4i Gold 3ds Correct ? hi the preflashed just means the r4i gold 3ds card has been updated to be able to support your dsi V1.45, it doesn't mean they can put the kernel files on the sd card. but you can do it in 2 mins when you receive the card to put the latest wood firmware on the sd card with the guide link. and yeah, you can create new folders to store the ds and snes roms. and no worry about your dsi console is too old, the r4 card will be workin great on it. thanks.
currently the latest one is the 3ds or 3ds xl. and the r4i gold 3ds card is also working great on it.
