Is there ever a limit for how many pages a thread can go on for?

then PM someone and asked them instead of starting a useless thread ,the Mods have enough to do without having to babysit everyone here

To answer your question "need_for2" no there isn't a limit on how long a thread can go for.

Also aabbccdd is right. You didn't need to create a thread on this and could of easily PM'd a mod.

If you didn't want to PM a mod then there is a thread in the Safety Valve where you can ask absolutely anything to anyone. Here is the link = http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/281991

there's a few examples of threads that will probably go on for a helluva lot longer without being pointless, for instance non-techie ones i can think of are 'what are you currently listening to' and 'anyone seen any good movies lately'. of course there are many techie threads that never seem to lose steam either...

now it's been answered i guess i'll close this one. this way no-one can bleat "the mods are closing loads of threads in the safety valve" as it's been answered before closure
