Since I upgraded my computer, Dell Vostro 3Ghz proc, 4 GB RAM and a new SATA DVD burner, i have been getting lock ups, and burn failures. Here is the log with the burn failure.

If anyone has any ideas on what i should check, please let me know. Also, let me know if you need any additional information from me.

    Thanks,

    Don

These are not the besy quality discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan)

    Slow your burn to 4X

You have Roxio installed, it clashes with Nero, to remove, run this zapper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

Well, I had another failure. The log no longer references the Roxio file, so now I am trying different media.

Post a new log upon trying the new media to reflect the removal of Roxio and any other changes asked for if you have more errors.

will do. the next try, with different media, worked. i am using DVD shrink, and occasionally, just have a flat out locked up computer.

Any idea of a log to look at when that occurs? Event viewer?

is there a Nero diag i can run?

Thanks to all for the help.

Well, I had another failure with bad media, and copied the log to a wordpad doc. I then retried the burn with better media, and my machine locked up (lost the log).

I am running a Samsung SH-S183L DVD burner at Firmware SB02

    Any ideas?
